About Barnardos Children’s Support Program (BCSP)

The Barnardos Children’s Support Program (BCSP) provides small grants of up to $5,000 per grant to assist children (4-18 years) experiencing significant disadvantage. The purpose of this program is to promote and encourage their educational potential and outcomes. The program is open to schools across Australia with an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) of 1000 or below.

A major aim of the program is to avoid social isolation caused by geographical, economic or social disadvantage, so that a child or young person can engage with their peers and join in school activities to achieve more from, and enrich, their education. Education is crucial in reducing poverty and developing a child's self-esteem.
